Yamaha YZF-R6 Velocity Stacks - Carbon Fiber
Rogue Performance — Yamaha YZF-R6 Velocity Stacks
The stock funnel, redrawn where it loses air
The R6's YCC-I intake is one of the cleverest systems on any 600. The stock funnels are not. Their thin lip lets air peel away from the entry, and the loss grows the harder you rev it. We started from the original shape, found exactly where it loses air, and reshaped it.
The result is a one-piece, four-funnel upper row with matching base plates that mounts straight onto your original stack rails, using your existing hardware and YCC-I linkage points.
Shaped in CFD, not by eye
Every revision went through computational fluid dynamics, and we kept the one with the lowest pressure loss. Against the original design:
About 23 % less intake pressure loss, averaged across the angled lip.
Less of the engine's suction is spent dragging air past the lip, so more of it goes into filling the cylinder.
Air stays attached. The original's thin lip lets flow separate at the entry. Our rolled lip shows no reverse flow at any section.
When air peels off a sharp edge, the funnel's working opening shrinks. A rolled lip keeps the whole mouth doing its job.
The gap grows with rpm. 4 % less loss at 15 m/s intake speed, 26 % less at 45 m/s.
The faster the air moves, the more the new shape earns its keep, and an R6 spends its best moments with the air moving fast.
One continuous flare from lip to seat, with no steps or ledges.
Every step inside a funnel is a place for the air to trip. There are none.
Those are simulation results, not dyno numbers, and we say so. What they mean on the bike is a cleaner entry into every cylinder, with the biggest difference where the R6 makes its power.
Carbon fiber nylon, because an airbox is a hostile place
An airbox is hot, coated in oil mist and full of fuel vapor. Most printed parts are made from plastics that tolerate none of that. These are printed in carbon fiber nylon.
| Heat deflection | 175 °C (PLA: 57 °C) |
| Stiffness | Over 2× the flexural modulus of PLA or PETG |
| Oil and fuel | Resistant |
| Impact | Flexes instead of cracking |
Stiff enough to hold the profile we simulated, tough enough to live next to a hot engine for years.
Drops onto your stock rails
A direct replacement for the stock stack assembly. It mounts onto your original stack rails and uses your existing hardware and YCC-I linkage points. Before starting the engine, check that the YCC-I system moves freely through its full travel.

FAQ
Will this fit my year?
It fits 2007–2016 YZF-R6 models with YCC-I and was fit-checked on a 2008. For any other model year, contact us before ordering.
Do I need my stock stack rails?
Yes. The kit mounts directly onto your original rails and uses your existing hardware, so keep them.
Do you have dyno numbers?
Not yet. The airflow figures on this page are steady-state CFD results comparing our funnel with the original design, and we label them that way. Real-world gains depend on your bike and tune.
Do I need to re-tune?
Any intake change alters how the engine breathes. If you are already running a tune, have your tuner account for the change.
Why carbon fiber nylon and not PLA or PETG?
Heat and chemicals. PLA starts to soften around 57 °C; this material holds to 175 °C, is more than twice as stiff, and resists the oil mist and fuel vapor inside an airbox.
Is this a track-only part?
It is intended for off-road/track use. Check your local emissions and equipment rules for road use.
Airflow figures are steady-state CFD results (RANS, k-ω SST) comparing our funnel with the original design; they are not dyno results, and real-world gains depend on your bike and tune. Material values are typical dry lab values from filament data sheets; printed parts vary. Not affiliated with Yamaha Motor Co. "Yamaha" and "YZF-R6" are used for fitment reference only.
